So there you have it, Whistler Mountain is closed. Blackcomb will keep going until June 8th but only half the mountain is open! Be aware that you have to be able to get down a blue slope if you want to get off the mountain. Blackomb's only green slope is closed. The only way to get up the hill is via the Excalibur Gondola starting in theVillage. Also you have to download via that gondola at the end of the day.

Okay guys, Whistler Mountain is closing this coming Sunday but it looks like winter has other ideas! I mean, look at those temperatures and 5cm of snow on top of that I even have a sprinkling on the roof right now.. Weird! Anyway, we've got lots of spring snow and you can still slide into the village at the end of the day - no downloading required.

Not much to report really. It's solid spring skiing up here now. It's going to get warmer today and for the rest of the week, we may get some snow/rain flurries. Expect to be riding slush.

And it doesn't stop, 8 cm yesterday 2 more today and the possibility of more to come. They're piling up the snow for the Telus Ski and Snowboard festival. It's all going to start this coming Friday. Party Time!

Could we get serious here? We woke up to a serious snowfall this morning but the now the sun is shining. Is this winter or is this spring?

Good snow on top, it was getting kinda weird in the middle. To hard to set an edge yet very slippery. It's like riding on wet linoleum. It'll be all good tomorrow.

Sun as far as the eye can see but still quite nippy in the morning. It takes the sun a few hours to soften up the groomed hardpack. Sunny days for the rest of the week.

Excellent conditions still holding with the occasional top to bottom flurrie. Awesome snow all around us and the temperatures have been ideal to maintain good soft conditions.

Four cm today with seven yesterday, it's keeping the 50 cm we got last week nice and fresh. Don't know what we did to deserve this but hey! Nobody's complaining.

Man, it's epic up there. Who'da thunk that this late in the season we would get serious dumps from top to bottom. You know me, if you can't be here I feel your pain!

Gorgeousity all around people. Busy as well but to be expected with a big dump hitting us just on the Easter long weekend. For the next few days it will be sunny periods, cool air and possible flurries. Bring it on!

A Huge dump people! Some seriously strange weather happening around here. Snow this morning, sunny in the afternoon but more snow happening tonight. Be ready for an other 10 to 15cm but sunny periods tomorrow. I you can make it (and you like pow) be here it's going to be awesome.

Oh yeah, this is so much more like it. 3cm today 7 yesterday and an other shitload about to arrive tonight and some tomorrow. Spring skiing at its best people, be here! Actually judging by the lineup to get up the hill in the morning you are already here.

No sun today, it kept snowing lighgtly on and off but you gotta stay in the alpine because down low it gets too marbly (can't set an edge) and at the bottom slushy.

A nice sunny day especially in the afternoon when the fog burned off. Some snow fell and it was all good. Let's hope this keeps up for a while.

Some fresh snow, more to come, a little bit every day. Before you know it we've got pow conditions. Looks like a seriously good Easter weekend coming up.

Nice and cold up there which is a good thing because we're still on for precipitation tonigth and a bit tomorrow. The wind has picked up a bit so don't dress for spring just yet.

Spring conditions did last but tomorrow we ought to get some snow with more on the way for Monday. Looks like a good easter week coming up.

In case you were wondering how we ended up with a 242cm base after a 1cm snowfall. Yep yesterday we got 20 cm! Conditions are excellent in the alpine but a little slushy on the way down below Olympic Station. It's all good though, spring is less than 2 weeks away!

Not exactly a stellar day today people. Yeah we got snow but it's wet and heavy and rain from mid mountain down. Add big wind and fog and you've got a hot chocolate in the lodge type of day. Temperatures will drop and more snow will fall, believe me!

Actually it felt like more than 2cm's on certain runs, the wind had been fooling around up there. Good conditions, lots of fun riding in the alpine!

More sunshine, more good riding and sliding. We're still on for rain/snow this weekend. How high will the freezing level go? Questions, questions!

The eagle eyed around here will have noticed that there was no freezing level to be found anywhere on the mountain today. Yup, spring's here. Now you know it couldn't last didn't ya. An other front is going to hit us starting Friday night. Stay tuned.

Just so's you know, I just shoveled 5cm of the driveway. In other words we're back to snow from top to bottom! It looks like midwinter around here again. Anyway - sun tomorrow, feel like riding pow in the sunshine? You know where to find us.

These temperatures are more what we're used to. We've got good conditions up there especially in the alpine. We may get some more snow tonight and tomorrow so it's all good. Tuesday and Wednesday sunshine! Oh Yeah

Okay so, the thrill is back. We got some serious snow and some of it actually fell from top to bottom. In the alpine tree runs are good again and all off piste area's are rideable. Come and get it.

Okay guys that storm did arrive and the freezing level is slowly creeping down the hill. Trouble is it started raining from the Pig Alley Weather Station on down earlier today so we had a ways to go and still do as a matter of fact. The freezing level is going to continue falling all the way to the valley bottom, let's see if we can get some snow down here as well.

Weird weather today, clear on the bottom, a big layer of fog in the middle, gorgeous on top. We're all waiting to see what tomorrow is going to bring. Lots of snow no doubt but how far down the hill will the freezing level drop?

Finally some snow, 6 cm is not a lot but better than a kick in the gonads. That snowfall predicted for the weekend is getting bigger all the time with a forecasts for Friday and Saturday dumps Plus the freezing level dropping. Now all we need is for the weatherman to be right. Stay tuned.

Well those flurries we where suposed to get today amounted to sweet bugger all, maybe tonight. 5Cm says the man. Friday is still looking like the big dump.

Okay so this bit of early spring we've been having is about to give way to some more regular February weather. We've got two Pacific fronts coming our way with the potential to drop some serious snow especially the second one. Keep'm crossed.

Spring's here to stay, there is nothing in the forecast until next Tuesday. Come and ride groomers, the terrain park or some serious moguls.

Bring your sunscreen is all I can say unless you like to go home with the dreaded goggle tan. The conditions are groomed hard pack.

Okay so here's the story. That storm that was coming our way? It split in half with one bit going south and the other north. We where right in the middle. Hey it's a good story and I am sticking to it especially after 3 solid days of spring skiing. Snow tomorrow says the man. Dude, I'll believe it when I see it.

Another spring day corker. It looks like the forecasted "weird weather" is not so weird after all. We'll have more spring days coming up with the possibility of some flurries. Bring your sunscreen.

All you Presidents Weekenders I hope you had a good time. This was the last of the springday weekends, we've got some seriously weird weather coming this way. We'll have inversions, a bit of rain, some snow and other weirdness which should settle down by the end of the week.

Okay guys this is it, these 9 centimeters pretty well have to last us until next week. It shouldn't be a problem because the sun's coming back for an appearance this weekend. Ready for some serious spring skiing?

Hope you had a good Valentines day. Even though we did not get any fresh snow today the conditions are great with no wind to speak of and mild temperatures. We've got a storm coming through tomorrow followed by a gorgeous sunny weekend.

A perfect spring day today, sunshine and good snow. I think we've seen de big dumps at the valley bottom and in the village but in the ski areas there is plenty more to come. This Friday says the man!

Springish type weather is what we're having. It's slushy at the bottom but firm and good riding higher up. We've got a sunny day coming up tomorrow. Ideal spring conditions I'd say.

The village is dripping big time now, visualize tons of snow that is now starting to melt! The freezing level is somewhere below mid station so it's all good as far as riding the mountain is concerned. At the end of the day you'll have to bash through mashed potato to get to the village though.

Fresh snow plus sunny breaks would anyone like to order dessert now? Does it get any better? You want more snow? Be here tomorrow.

19cm. Close enough to 20 for the 20cm rule I'd say. It's getting warmer at the bottom the village is starting to drip. The freezing level may go as high as 1300 meters on Saturday but only for a short period, the freeze will be back. Frozen slush, you gotta love it.

If the man is right we're in for it big time, snow every day of the week and up to 25cm per dump. Stay tuned.

Big snow and big wind today people it's also warming up a bit. More snow and much more snow are on the way but it's the wind that we have to look out for because the high chairs will not run if the wind is too much (as it was today)

We've got big snow coming our way, it'll start this afternoon. The freezing level is going to rise just a bit above village level which isn't all bad because I love snow on the mountain but on my driveway..? A lot of people are running out of space to dump the snow that's pushed off the roads and what they push off their own driveways.

No fresh snow today but there's plenty to go around. It's almost like spring skiing out there except that the lower runs are excellent this season. There is lots of snow from top to bottom.

Okay guys, this weekend is going to be a mixed bag. We had some nice snow the last few days and we'll get a few refreshers but we should also get some serious sunny breaks. Excellent riding is coming up in other words.

There's nothing like riding a groomed run with 15cm of fresh on top. Getting ready for the Olympics Whistler mountain is being groomed to perfection every day just so the crews can iron out all the wrinkles before the big party happens. When you add late night grooming plus an early morning dump you've got early track runs to drool over. Come over and help us drool.

Because we had some big wind in the alpine the last few days certain areas are nicely blown in. What area's?? Wouldn't you love to know!! Awright here's a hint, take any of the alpine chairs and look for medium difficult accessible terrain shutes, trees, that sort of stuff. Happy hunting!

A couple of centimeters just to keep everybody happy but we could do with some serious snow. Tomorrow it starts says the man, truly and for sure and then on Thursday the big one! Be here!

Okay so now where having clear skies again but it's not going to last. More snow tonight and a lot more on Tuesday. Al week long says the man. I believe 'm!

Looks like that storm is dillydallying over the Pacific but it's there and it's coming, all we need now is patience. Conditions are still groomed hardpack with sun on it to soften it up so good conditions but a fresh dump will be welcome.

Okay so we're all waiting with baited breath. Are we going to get the snow as promised on Saturday or what? Conditions are not bad because it's warm enough on top when the sun is out to soften up the snow but hey. We need some serious dumping!

Nothing much changed, it's groomers, park and moguls as far as the eye can see. We do have some serious storms coming this way bringing us snow this weekend. Yeah, bring it on!

It's spring skiing as far as the eye can see. Yesterday the wind was blowing big but today it's all quiet on the windy side with the sun shining and the snow glistening. Later!

Okay so we got 8cm's of fresh which is nice but it'll have to last. It's sunny days from now on as far as the eye can see. The choices will be riding park, groomers or moguls for a while.

The inversion is finally mellowing down, don't get me wrong riding in spring conditions on top was fun but it's always weird to drop into the cold at the end of the day. Anyway our conditions have been groomed hardpack especially on the rideout and y'all know what that means. The man says we're going to get some flurries tonight but I find, the man talks a lot. Me I'll wait and see. I'll tell you tomorrow.

This is very strange people, can you say inversion? I mean -3c on top and minus 11c down here! If this keeps up make sure you have zippable layers so you can open everything up when you go uphill tomorrow and start zipping up as you ride into the basemant.

Wow! there is nothing like having the temperature drop just about 10 degrees overnight. Everything down here that was melting and dripping basically froze in midmelt which makes for some interesting icy spots. Meanwhile up in the hills it's gorgeous what with fresh snow and a sunny sky, you should be here.

It's still dripping down here but it's snowing up there. 11Cm isn't bad but the snow will be kinda heavy. The wind is kinda big up there as well so wrap it up well. The man is stil promising 15 to 25cm, we'll see!

The big drip is still going on down here but up higher it's already getting cooler so it's all good. I actually don't mind all that stuff melting off of my driveway. The man is still predicting a big dump and then some lovely sunny days. Wish you where here!

Well, the great melt is on. Every roof and tree in the village is dripping and there's slush everywhere. Luckily we don't have to go up high to get into the freezing zone and it's not going to last down here either. There's also a huge system coming our way more on that when it hits.

An other huge dump, mind if we take a rest now? I've got to shovel all this stuff of the driveway you know! We've got more coming this weekend. Be Here!

A late report today, I've been doing an avalanch course in the back country. Today was gorgeous, all the chairs opened up and there was pow everywhere. We're expecting snow tonight and tomorrow but also some serious wind. Wednesday looks like the day to be here.

With the high chairs on Whistler still on standby the snow in the high alpine must be awesome. Those chairs haven't been open for the last few days because of high winds and bad visibility so nobody has been there to ride the pow. Be Ready!

We had some seriously big wind last night. When you add the 18cm of snow to that we might find that all the off-piste mogul fields are nicely filled in but there may also be the occasional downed tree in the way. I'll go see, later!

6 extra centimeters, it won't go to waste around here. Be aware It has been Very Busy the last few days and I am sure it'll stay like that through the weekend. It's warm down here on the valley floor making things wet en slippery but the temp will drop soon with more snow coming.

A nice dump, 22cm is enough for the 20cm rule to be put in motion. I.E there are no friends on 20 cm days it's everyone for themselves on the way to the powder fields!
