The worm has turned but the future is bright.
Another beautiful sunny day, but overnight the dropping temperatures froze the mountains pretty good. Especially after the slight thaw from yesterdays sunshine. The snow was ugly in places, extremely hard and chunky – a few morning groomers on Emerald chair were fun, but you could tell the base is solid.
After that we headed to Blackcomb and did a lap through the newly opened Lakeside Bowl in 7th Heaven – which was decent powder. Followed by a trip down the Everglades that no one wanted to repeat. Very hard snow in there – as was basically the whole mountain. Except for the Blackcomb Glacier
It was SWEET ! A bit of a mission to get to, you have to traverse across from the top of 7th Heaven chairlift with a bit of hiking as well. Well worth it though, very nice powder. The Blowhole is looking good, but the traverse across needs some work. No doubt it will when they get closer to opening the T bars.
Hopefully the weather forecast is true, looks like Sunday afternoon and Monday will be nice.
Okay, here a 3 longish videos of a few friends enjoying the powder in the glacier. They are all the same run, but I figured show them all anyway.
Ladies first, so here we have Nicole
Followed by Gwen
and finally the knuckle-dragger Mike
