Centimeters?? What the..!

      1cm = .39 inch
      10cm = 3.9 inch
      30.5 cm = 1 foot
      100cm = 1 meter
      1 meter = 3.24 feet or slighty
       more than a yard.

Celsius Explained.
There is still one nation left in this world where the Fahrenheit scale is used to measure temperature. You know who you are. Here is a quick Celsius refresher. Water freezes at 0c therefore anything between -1c and -10c is good for snow while still comfortable for people. As far as aprés in the village is concerned people will sit outside on the patios at about 5c. Yes I know, people have been known to sit outside at
-10c but those are the ones feeling no pain.

That rain we had a few days ago did turn out to be snow on top so we had an excellent day up there. We're back to regular spring conditions now so make sure you wax'm. By the way it's downloading form the Roundhouse for the rest of the season.

It's cooled of considerably and we had rain/snow overnight. Not sure where the snowline is. I'll go check it out, how's that?

Spring skiing on top. Mountain biking at the bottom. Whistler is one busy little mountain right now. The Crud to Mud race is coming up in a couple o'weeks (May 24)

We had some rain overnight but it's clearing up now. The sun will be back this afternoon. It looks like it's going to get colder next week with the freezing level dropping down to Olympic Station we might even get some snow?

Sunshine as far as the eye can see. It's melting fast now when it doesn't freeze at night it doesn't take long in the morning for things to go through the firm/soft/slush cycle. Be here at ten o'clock I would say and you'll have the best of spring conditions.

It's excellent up there not only did we have some snow but a big wind came with that which filled in some of the gnarly off-run areas. I actually took it into the trees which normally gets kinda sketchy in the spring but it worked great.

It's snowing/raining big time right now after two days of sunshine. he man says we may get up to 6 cm but then it'll dry up again with the sun returning tomorrow.

7 New centimeters not bad for late April it's pretty sticky stuff though. Downloading is over and done with for the season on both mountains. Right now they are scraping the last bits of snow from the mountainbike trails so they can start to dry out for the May opening.

Some snow already, we have a 60% chance of more during the day but apparently the big one is coming tonight. It actually looks alright right now, sun's trying to peek through but there's some heavy clouds coming in from the south.

We've got an eye of the storm situation here. It looks great out there right now but there are several Pacific storms headed our way. Will we get snow next week, will Stephan marry Joanne or will uncle Martin survive his fall down mount Everest so he can tell them they are brother and sister and can't marry? Tune in next week.

Well there you have it people one glorious cm of fresh pow, don't all come at once now you hear. Guess what though next week there's going to be Big Snow up there 15 to 25 cm according to the man and fairly low down the mountain as well. Stay tuned.

Good thing I didn't hold my breath (see yesterday) some snow fell but not in the area where the mountain has their measuring apparatus. Still, it's colder so the snow has stiffened up and according to the man there is still a chance of flurries.

It's cold enough for snow up there but there is/was not enough precip to speak of. Apparantly we're not done yet there is still a 60% chance of flurries. I am not holding my breath.

Just a reminder. Don't forget your sunscreen and shades. People are walking around with beet red faces and burning eyes, that can't be good. I forgot to put screen on my neck so I am going to be a redneck for a few days. It's sunshine on snow guys, it'll hit you from All angles.

The big question now is how long will we be able to ski into the village. Some people are downloading from midstation already because the snow at the bottom is too icky!! I give it a few more days.

Welcome to 04-04-04 this will happen only once this century. Enjoy it. It's also clock forward one hour if your jurisdiction works with daylight savings time. We've got sun, we've got snow. If you always wanted to do spring skiing at it's best, be here.

We've got a mild inversion right now but that won't last. It's definitely T-shirt weather. Leave your winterstuff at home and slap on lots of sunscreen because sun on snow means you're going to get it from all sides (U.V. rays that is).

It's raining big time down here which means it's snowing up there. They had 5cm already and I am sure that number will be 10 or more by the end of the day. Looks like the man was right, if he keeps it up it means that Thursday is going to be an awesome spring day.

I think this is it for the big snow this season we could get a few more flurries but from now on it's going to be spring conditions. For today, stay high and enjoy the powder.

It's coming down in buckets but not constantly if it was snow I would call 'm flurries but down here it's wet (very) snow and rain. It looks like the snowline is going to be above Olympic station but the freezing level goes up and down like a yo-yo so we'll have to wait and see.

Mar.23 '04 10:00 AM Overcast, Unltd Vis. Wind S 15 k/h

So like, it's snowing/raining right now. The snow line is between 1500 and 1600 meter depending on which mountain you're looking at. The excellent news is that there is cold front coming in which is going to drop the freeezing level down into the valley ánd it carries a whole load of snow. Stay tuned.

Oh yeah! The man is still sure of himself a "strong late winter storm" he calls it and it's coming right at us. Big snow starting this aft or tonight, could be half a meter by time it's all said and done. It's going to an epic weekend if it all comes true.
